Laugh And Sing Daylily

  Just a beautiful velvety crimson red!  With large 5" ruffled blooms on very tall 32" scapes, this one really stands out in the garden!  Although I did have to wait 2 years for it to bloom (not in the best of soil).  A mid season bloomer that is an extended bloomer as well as rebloomer in warmer climates.  I don't remember where I got it from and this one appears to be hard to find but I did find it available at Bloomriver.com, Rockhavendaylilies.com as well as Smithdaylilies.com

Rushing Delight Daylily

  Living in zone 4 (Minneapolis), we are told that "evergreen" daylilies, those that the foliage does not die back in the winter, will not survive in our climate.  So for the most part I have stayed away from investing in them.  Which is very disappointing because I find that they tend to be the more colorful and luscious varieties available.  But by accident I ended up buying a couple or 3.  Low and behold I have found out that they have indeed made it through our harsh Minnesota winters, at least for me.  Take for instance Rushing Delight, it is just breathtaking!  An early to mid season variety standing 26" tall with 5" blooms and slightly fragrant. Addie Branch Smith Daylily

  Notice the white line going through the green, dark purple and orchid rose colors of this 4" bloom, very subtle and yet captivating.  Addie blooms midseason, June-July on 20"scapes above dark green foliage. Considered an extended bloomer she is a dormant Diploid and can be found at Oakesdaylilies.com, Finchvilledaylily.com, Paradisegarden.com and others.

Forty Second Street Daylily

  This is a double daylily.  You can see that doubles have two(or more)sets of petals, which give the daylilies in this class a whole different look!  I only have a few doubles and am planning on getting more.  Although Forty Second Street is suppose to have 5" blooms, mine do not reach that width because I think the shade from some of my other perennials is minimizing it's potential.  The shades of pale pink, rose and mauve are super on this shorter 18-24" plant.  It is one of my few "evergreen" varieties and I'm surprised that it has survived in my cold Minnesota climate for 3 years. Considered a rebloomer in warmer climates.  Midseason, Diploid and extended bloomer.  Available at Dayliliesbythepond.com, Dayliliesforsale.com and Smokeysdaylilygardens.com.

Final Touch Daylily

   I found this fragrant beauty at Lowes a couple of years ago and I am so glad I did!  It is a very late bloomer starting in August and continues to send up sturdy well branched scapes usually until frost.  It is so nice to see them when all others have finished.  It grows 24-32 inches tall with 4.75 inch flowers that last approx. 16 hours.  A great performer you can find at Jungseed.com, Bloomingdesigns.com and Oldheirloomroses.com among others.

Rocket City Daylily

  An older variety that has remained popular over the years because of it's large 6" golden orange/burnt orange blooms.  It does have a halo of white on the edge, but does not show up on mine.  It grows 36" high and multiplies quite fast.  Early to midseason, it can be quite breathtaking with it's many blooms on any given day and is considered an extended bloomer.  A dormant Tetraploid available at SmokeysDaylilyGardens.com, PerennialPlace.com and Day-lily.com.

Ice Carnival Daylily

  Ice Carnival is as close to a white Daylily that you are going to find at this time.  The creamy trumpet shaped flower with buttery yellow-green throats are also fragrant (which also is hard to find).  It grows 26-30" and the blooms can be 6" wide.  It is considered a rebloomer but in my Minnesota weather has not happened yet, although it has had a long blooming period.  This dormant Diploid is considered a mid-season bloomer.  I found it available at Easytogrowbulbs.com, Touchofnature.com and  GilbertHWild.com
